Creative Education Provision in Lancashire

We’re creating space for creative practitioners and educators from across Lancashire to come together, share knowledge and experience and work towards a joined-up, pan-Lancashire approach to ensuring parity of delivery and equality of access to creative education for children and young people across the county.

Broadly, our ambitions for this work are to:

  • Keep our sector connected to national, regional and local policy around creative education, building a shared understanding of what it means for Lancashire and supporting a collective response to policy developments.
  • Support the development of advocacy tools and a collective strategy to champion the value and importance of creative education in Lancashire.
  • Support local LCEPs to share and celebrate the breadth of the county’s existing creative education offer.#
  • Identify gaps in provision and explore how we can work collectively to address them.
  • Strengthen connections and collaboration between creative practitioners, educators and cultural organisations and networks across Lancashire.

There is already a strong and diverse creative education offer across the county. This group is about making that work more visible, strengthening Lancashire’s offer, and working together to ensure that children and young people have equitable opportunities to engage with creativity, wherever they live in Lancashire.

Here you will find details of key organisations, partnerships and opportunities that support creative and cultural learning for children and young people across Lancashire. It provides a gateway to the county’s Cultural Education Partnerships, music services, heritage learning providers and youth-focused arts organisations.

The resources included highlight contacts, services, case studies and research to help schools, educators, cultural organisations and families connect with Lancashire’s vibrant culture sector and developing creative education offer. If you or your organisation delivers arts or culture activity for young people in Lancashire, or provides programmes for home-educated learners, we encourage you to get in touch so your work can be included and mapped as part of our countywide approach to supporting creative opportunity for all.
