This September, join Arts Lancashire at The Lancashire Encounter Festival in Preston for 2 hours of conversation to celebrate the launch of ‘The Gathering’, our new podcast and event series for artists and creatives.
Each month, The Gathering will debunk myths and pull back the curtain on life in the arts lane by giving you access to real advice and strategies from successful creatives, artists and producers, as well as the opportunity to listen and contribute to filter free conversation about what it really takes to carve a productive, fulfilling life and career as a creative.

The Gathering starts on Friday 21st September 2018 with two live recorded events at The Harris Museum & Art Gallery in Preston and released as an audio and video podcast via Arts Lancashire. At each event you’ll have the chance to ask questions and contribute to the discussion.
LIVE RECORDED PODCAST: FINDING CREATIVITY with Jamie Holman | 10.30AM – 11.30AM
Artist, writer and lecturer, Jamie Holman, joins us to talk technique, methods and approaches to stimulating imagination. He’ll share his tips on how to identify inspirational touch points and how to protect intellectual property.

Help inform the development of the Preston Cultural Strategy and the Lancashire Encounter Festival by sharing your thoughts, experiences and recommendations on how artists, creatives and cultural organisations can work together to shape a compelling and impactful festival, city and county of the future with Tom Flemming Creative Consultancy and Festival specialists FEI (Festival and Events International).

Artist, Producer and Learning Director at outdoor arts specialists, Walk The Plank, Alexis Johnson, joins us for an exploration of how artists and creatives can strengthen their capacity to tackle the unexpected. We’ll be looking at tools and approaches for collaboration and innovation to support both individual and organisational sustainability.
