Arts Lancashire spends alot of time advocating for the professional independent arts in Lancashire. Lobbying Lancashire County Council has always been a big part of this work.

Following the County Council’s decision to withdraw their support for Lancashire’s bid for City of Culture 2025, we issued a statement expressing our disappointment.

We then put together a specific campaign to make the case for investing in culture in Lancashire.

Over the Summer of 2021 we worked with Huckleberry Films to put together a video to support our case. Many of Lancashire’s artists and arts organisations were involved in the making of this. We’re happy for you to view the video we made here, and to make use of the wording and statistics used in it to support your own advocacy and lobbying or bid development, but we do ask you not to share this video as it was created for a very specific purpose. We will look to make another video for the public in due course.
