Access: STILL BURSARIES AVAILABLE! We want this day to be as accessible to as many people working in and with the arts as possible. So we are offering 10 x £50 expenses bursaries for Lancashire based freelance artists / producers who would like to attend. Please email esther@horseandbamboo.org with 100 words on why you should be considered for the bursary to apply.

10.00 – Horse + Bamboo’s Suffrajitsu plus discussion

Suffrajitsu

Follow the story of Annie, a young Lancashire Lass and how she learnt that being small doesn’t mean you can’t change the world! Inspired by the real lives and stories of the Suffragettes, Suffrajitsu tells the story of how the suffragettes used Jiu Jitsu in their fight to win the vote. Horse + Bamboo have worked with Ayesha Communications on this project to make the show fully accessible to a deaf audience and this will be the focus of the post-show discussion.

11.20 – Byteback Theatre’s The Only One in the World plus discussion

The Only One in the World

Meet Liv – clever, funny, confident -until her world is turned upside down. Follow one girl’s journey into a world of grooming and abuse, told beautifully through storytelling and spoken word with heartbreaking consequences. Byteback Theatre in collaboration with Burnley Youth Theatre and Lancashire Constabulary.

16.30 – Interview with Hussnain Hanif on forging a new path in the arts.

19.00 – Whitworth Library – The Great Austerity Debate (additional tickets needed).

The Arts Exchange will the be followed by a performance by Menagerie Theatre of ‘The Great Austerity Debate’, at The Whitworth Library that evening:
