LANCASHIRE ARTS EXCHANGE OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS
The Lancashire Arts Exchange will return this Autumn for its seventh year, from Friday 17th September – Friday 1st October 2021, coinciding with Lancashire Encounter, the county’s annual celebration of Lancashire’s cultural offer.
This year’s programme will take place both online and offline as we continue to explore the issues and innovations impacting arts and culture.
Themed Augmented Creativity, with a focus on Arts & Tech, we’ll be hosting a series of panels, guest speakers, and public dialogues alongside a programme of digital artworks and interventions exploring how artificial intelligence, and new technologies are challenging and enhancing how artists and audiences, make and share art, and access and participate in the arts.
We would like to invite artists, artist collectives, producers, and curators of any artistic discipline to submit details of digital artworks, interventions, or projects on any theme, but which:
Explore and realize the interrelation between arts (any discipline) and new technologies;
AND/OR
Explore and realize the interaction between artwork and audience with the contribution of technology.
Each of the works selected will receive a fee of £500. Selected artists, if interested, can also present a technological artistic workshop with an entrance ticket for the audience.
Eligibility
This call is open to artists of any discipline and we welcome applications from people of colour; people who are non-binary/trans; people with visible/invisible disabilities; and people who are neuro-divergent.
The application must contain:
• A brief CV or bio for each artist, OR a brief description of the applicant organisation (no more than one page / short audio /video recording)
• Brief detailed description of the project (in PDF or Audio/Video Recording);
• Technical rider;
• Selection of max 6 images;
• Link relevant audio/video material (Vimeo or Youtube).

Publication
If selected for the programme artists must provide a short biography and an abstract of the artwork/project which will be published on the Arts Lancashire and Lancashire Encounter websites and/or presented to the press for promotional purposes.
Archiving Process
Artists authorise Arts Lancashire to present their work, to store the material, and make it accessible through the Arts Lancashire website. All rights to the artwork and images will remain to the artist. Arts Lancashire is also entitled to document the event in all its phases through audio recordings, video, or images.

Application materials must be sent by THURSDAY 29th JULY 2021, to artslancashire@gmail.com
Notification of the results of the Lancashire Arts Exchange Open Call will be posted online on MONDAY 19th AUGUST 2021. Selected artists/projects will also be notified by email.
