Funding Advice and Support From Arts & Community Funders
Preston City Council, in association with Arts Lancashire, are looking forward to welcoming representatives from the National Lottery Community Fund, Arts Council England, Crowdfund Lancashire and My Funding Central at a Meet The Funder event from 10am – 2pm on Monday 3rd July 2023 at Preston Guild Hall.
The face-to-face informal information event will offer talks and one-to-one advice surgeries about how to identify and apply for funding for an arts, culture or community project.
You can hear directly from funders about funding opportunities, criteria and application processes. There will also be opportunities to ask questions and to catch up with representatives from each funding body.
If you have an idea for an arts or culture led project or programme that aims to:
you will find free help and advice around funding and developing your project at our Meet The Funders event in Preston.
This event is open to individuals and organisations from across Lancashire, and we would particularly like to encourage Preston-based artists, arts organisations, community organisations, registered charities, community groups, community interest companies (CICs), non-profit limited companies by guarantee, social enterprises, churches, community-led charities and not-for-profits and commercial social impact organisations to attend.
In addition, if you are a Preston based artist or organisation and you have an arts, culture or community project in mind, or you are part-way through a funding application, there will also be a limited number of 30-minute one-to-one advice surgeries available with representatives from Arts Council England and Crowdfund Lancashire.
Advice surgery slots will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis and can be booked via the Meet The Funders page on the Arts Lancashire website.
Tim Joel, Head of Culture at Preston City Council said: “The idea of an event like Meet The Funders is to give artists, arts organisations, voluntary organisations, clubs and groups the confidence to apply for grants to fund their art and community projects and to show what support is available to help them do this.”
Alex O’Toole, Chair of Arts Lancashire, said: “Arts Lancashire is delighted to be co-hosting this event with Preston City Council. If you’re an artist, culture-led and community-led organisation or project, this event is the ideal opportunity for you to speak directly to the funders who can help make your work a reality and to get your idea, project or organisation in front of them before you make an application.”
The event is free to attend, but booking is required. Those interested in attending are invited to either attend the whole day or to dip in and out of the sessions most appropriate to their fundraising plans.
