Do you find predictive text weird? Does Google Translate give you the creeps? Who (or what) is on the other end of these interactions which intrude more and more frequently on our everyday lives?
In this workshop, artist Ali Matthews, will talk through her making process for creating Bobby, Lunch is Darkness, covering techniques, including: finding a source of ‘found’ text, inputting text into a series of algorithms (don’t worry, they won’t bite), rewriting results to make dialogue flow more easily and performing the results. No experience of coding, internet art or formal creative writing required – all that you need is an open mind and an interest in writing, art or performance.
Please bring a laptop, tablet or phone, and a notebook/pen.
This workshop is free to attend, but places are limited so tickets are required.
